BACKSTORY.Alcides was born to a humble Keeper of the Moon miqo'te family in the South Shroud and given the name Kleoh. He was the youngest of three sisters. His father, adhering to Keeper customs, left the Shroud as a wandering adventurer soon after Alcides was born. His mother provided for all three children as they grew up.Despite being born in the Shroud, they were not legal citizens of Gridania due to the city-state's systematic discrimination of Keeper miqo'te (and Duskwight elezen) before the 7th Umbral Calamity. Because of this, Alcides and his family were homeless and migrated throughout various parts of the Shroud all through his childhood and adolescence. He and his siblings quickly learned basic wilderness survival skills out of necessity.Alcides transitioned from female to male in his teenage years, shortly after reaching puberty. He is not entirely sure where he got the name "Alcides" from (he says it came to him in a vision), but he gave himself the surname Perditus after the 7th Umbral Calamity. Both of his parents were lost in the calamity, his father during the Battle of Carteneau and his mother in the ecological disasters that followed. When looking at his father's death records, Alcides learned that his father went by an alias while traveling: "Perditus". Thus he took it as a surname to honor his father, while his maiden name became his middle name. Both of his parents were buried in unmarked pauper's mass graves and didn't have funerals.After the Calamity, Alcides and his sisters continued to live and survive in the South Shroud outposts until he got a strange offer from the city-state of Gridania: an invitation to join its Adventurer's Guild and make himself and his remaining family citizens...CANON WOL TIMELINE.(WIP)(He got into a brief drinking stint while suffering from light corruption/poisoning on the First. PRE-SUNDERED TIMELINE (AS AZEM).(WIP)Prior to the Sundering, Azem's name was Heracles. He was the second youngest member of the Convocation of Fourteen at 19. (Themis was the youngest at 18). He was very close friends with Venat, and saw her as the older sister he never had. (He was an only child.) He was extremely gifted at his job as Azem, and very creative, resourceful, and practical. Emet-Selch would sometimes comment about his unconventional genius, bewildered that such intellect was paired with his innocent, childish, and seemingly naive personality.
